TV-Induced Shame Spiral

I am not a big fan of reality TV (if you don't count dance competitions).  In fact, I tend to poke fun at people (read: Amber) who get deeply involved in say, Jersey Shore.  I have on more than one occasion mocked the Kardashians and those who "keep up" with them.  I don't watch anything on the Style Network (mostly because I don't have cable).  And until tonight, I had never watched more than five or ten minutes of The Bachelor

I don't really know how it happened.  I think I just ran out of things to watch and turned it on.  Before I knew it, I was screaming at the TV about who should get a rose.  It's insane!  These grown women competing over a man like he's the last one on Earth, scheming and debating, going on these elaborate dates.  I want to hate it.  I feel like I should hate it.  But what I'm finding is that I kind of like it.  And I definitely have strong opinions about it.  For instance, I want Michelle gone.  She's nuts, and while MTV's Real World (before it was just about sleeping around) has shown us that it's important to the narrative to have a complete nutbag in the house, it's annoying.  I love Emily.  She's adorable!  But I think she's almost too good for Reality TV Ken, I mean, Brad.  If loving this show is wrong, I'm not sure I can be right.

See?  This is what I am talking about.  Amber, consider this my official apology.  But this doesn't mean that I won't mock you the next time you get offline to watch Snooki.  Some things are still just wrong...

  2. What should weird you out more than Amber and Jersey Shore is the fact that Jacob is completely addicted to Jersey Shore AND Teen Mom. It's the combination of the two (and Jacob) that I find pretty hilarious in this scenario.
