1. In what way are you your own worst enemy?
I'm my own worst enemy because I can't always seem to shut my mouth, even when it would be in my best interest to do so. If I am right, I can't just settle with the satisfaction that I was, I have to crow about it. And heaven help you if I get on a roll. It's not one of my finer qualities and one that I am really trying to work on.
2. Jacques Cousteau's birthday was Monday, June 11th...ever been scuba diving? Is that something you'd like to try? What's your favorite 'under the sea' creature?
I have never been scuba diving. I have this inherent fear of drowning, so that's kind of a bummer. It is something I would like to try because I love aquariums (the big kind, not the kind you have in your house. Well, unless you have a the big kind in your house. Then I'm in!). I love all of the tropical fish, but my favorite is the sea turtle! They are just so cute!
3. On a scale of 1-10, how comfortable are you in and around the water? (1=not at all, 10=very) Do you know how to swim and if so how and when did you learn?
Despite the whole fear of drowning thing, I am a big ole 10 in the water! My mom took me to swimming lessons from the time I was old enough to walk and I would go every summer. I am a very good swimmer and I absolutely love being in the water. (As long as I can see what's around me. I hate swimming in murky lakes, which is all we really have around here!)

Me circa 1986
4. What's something you do to motivate yourself to tick an item off your to-do list?
I can't really think of anything in particular, probably because I tend to lack motivation to check things off my to-do list.
5. What makes a good neighbor? Are you a good neighbor?
A good neighbor helps you when you have two inches of water in your basement and you don't know why you can't get the water shut off. And will also put a new bulb in your headlight after you look at them with sad puppy eyes. I should also mention that I don't have houses as neighbors, I have businesses. And they take good care of me. In return, I let them walk back and forth through my yard. Hmmm....maybe I should bake them cookies or something...

6. Who loads the dishwasher at your house? Is there a right way and a wrong way?
I don't have a dishwasher. there's no room for it in my tiny kitchen. But, after years in my parents' house, I can tell you there is a right way and a wrong way, but no one says too much if you will just do the dishes.

7. You know it's summer when_____you start getting fresh garden goods thrust upon you whether you like it or not_____.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
If you have been here much, you know how I feel about Gilmore Girls. It is my all-time favorite show. I know the names of the episodes. It's a very serious thing. And while Amy Sherman-Palladino has brought us shows since, I haven't really loved them. Until I watched Bunheads. Maybe it's my love for Broadway's Sutton Foster and Kelly Bishop, but I loved the pilot. (You can watch it on hulu now. The show airs on ABC Family on Mondays.) Did anyone else see it? Thoughts?

I wanted to watch Bunheads but missed it. I'll look for it on Hulu. That picture of you in the pool is so cute...you look so happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce! Were I to guess I would say I had just jumped off the diving board, so I was probably happy my kind of evil swimming teacher didn't let me drown! ha! (My first teacher was a little more intense than the one I had when I was older!)
DeleteWhat a darling girl you were in 1986 (and now ;) ). Yes, pools are much more fun than murky lakes. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cherie! I'm also fine with the ocean, just not lakes.
DeleteAwww! super cute picture of you :) Im with you on the worst enemy thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was the first swimming pic I found, though I would love to pretend lots of thought went into it! :)
DeleteCute pic- I am ready for summer goodies but with the crazy weather we had the goodies are a little late this year.
ReplyDeleteOur summer has come early! We've already had early peaches, tomatoes, and some squash. I need to get up early enough to hit the local farmers' market, but I always forget and sleep in!
DeleteI watched part of the pilot last night (it was obviously a rerun!), but was switching between that & House Hunters and kind of forgot to switch back to Bunheads!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting patiently for my dad's garden to come in...especially his cucumbers!
You need to look it up on hulu! It's really worth the look!
DeleteLoved your answers! I'm sure your neighbors would LOVE some cookies! And how wonderful to get fresh garden produce thrust upon you! Around here our growing season is so short, I have to order my produce from a food co-op... it's good, but not cheap!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure my neighbors would love some cookies too! (Men don't tend to shy away from fresh baked goods!) I won't be getting as much free stuff as I do some years, but I expect I may score a cucumber or two!
DeleteYay for sea turtles...my favorite, too! What a cute picture of you by the pool. Time flies, huh?
ReplyDeleteThanks, April! It certainly does!
DeleteI loved The Gilmore Girls! Oh, your number 1? That is ME! I'm 54 and I'm STILL that way. And no signs of any change either. LOL If your neighbors don't want cookies, I'll take them. :)
ReplyDeletePam, you're not giving me much hope of reform here! And if the boys get cookies, I'll send some your way too! :)
DeleteKatie, We do have similiarities - besides our love of country music. I LOVE Gilmore Girls too. Maybe not as much as you do, but it's one of my favorite shows to watch over and over. My 26 year old daughter has all the episodes on DVD and she really got me into it years back. I miss Luke & Loreli and all that "fast talking"! Question #1: I have the same problem as you do!
ReplyDeleteI have all of the seasons, too! (No shock, right?) I do miss Stars Hollow!
DeleteAnd as far as question 1: It sounds like we aren't alone!
Fun answers. Loved the pic of you as a little girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
DeleteAh Gilmore Girls I love! I will have to check out Bunheads.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly has my vote! (I can't wait for the next episode!)
