1. July is National Ice Cream month...your favorite flavor? Soft served, hand dipped, or frozen yogurt...which do you prefer? And technically yogurt is not ice cream but its hot outside so I'll let that slide for today.
I love ice cream. I prefer homemade vanilla, pineapple, or peach. I will eat just about any of it. I have a definite passion for gelato, and I've been in morning ever since my favorite place closed. There was nothing that could compete with any of their flavors.
2. When you travel do you tend to pack too much or too little?
I wish I were at home, because I would show you how much I overpack, particularly for car trips when I don't have to worry about the luggage situation. I'm the kind of person who always wants to pack one more thing "just in case" and never even uses half of it. But knowing that doesn't prevent me from overpacking the next time, believe me.

3. What's your favorite cleaning product?
Windex. And none of that generic stuff either.

4. Which is the greater tragedy-an innocent person imprisoned or a guilty person set free? Explain.
I think that they are both pretty awful, but the greater tragedy is someone who is guilty going free. Especially if it's on a technicality. But we also have to keep in mind there's a long way between assumed guilt and actually knowing a person committed a crime too.

5. What's the longest trip you've taken by car?
When I was in my very early 20s (read: dumb enough not to know any better), I drove overnight with friends twice. The longest one by distance was to San Antonio, Texas for a friend's Air Force graduation (about 13 hours straight after I'd worked a full day, eventually sleeping in my car in the parking lot of the hotel). The longest by cicumstance was to Biloxi, MS to see the same friend at tech school. The car I was in quit just south of Memphis in Horn Lake, Mississippi and we had to wait for my friend's stepdad and brother to bring us another car before we could continue. When we got to Biloxi, we had been up for around 36 hours straight.

6. tennis-golf-canoeing-biking...pick one.
Biking? It seems like the one I would be most likely to do. The others require skills like coordination, and I'm not big on that. The one time I went canoeing the guide climbed into our boat to help because we kept spinning in circles. No joke.

7. What sound drives you crazy?
The sound of water pouring into my basement. Through a series of unfortunate events, I ended up with about two inches of water standing in my basement and there was nothing I could do about it but call in assistance. We got the water stopped, but now there seem to be bigger problems (a majorly clogged pipe and uncooperative pump). Needless to say, it's been a long day.

8. My random thought:
As sucky as my day has been, I am so thankful that I can crash at my parents' using not only their water but their cable and food. Knowing you can always go home in an emergency rocks!

Oh man - what a day indeed! I will pray that things work out quickly and as easily as possible! And what a blessing that you have family you can turn to in times of crisis! Hang in there!
ReplyDeletehi-five on that random thought! I totally agree!
ReplyDelete:-) Nice to meet you!
I missed the idea of the post to start with !! I read the answer to question 1 and got in my mind all the post was about ice cream, therefore I was a little confused when I got to the next line about packing to much for a trip !! How would you keep ice cream frozen on a trip ??? Then I realised my mistake :)
ReplyDeleteJust for the record you cant beat Ben and Jerrys Chunky Monkey !
Ach! Water leaking into a basement has to be a nightmare sound, I agree. Not for the faint of heart.
ReplyDeleteWater running in the basement is a nightmare. We had an issue with that in one of our first houses following a brutal winter. It was over a foot deep-ugh. Hope you get yours figured out without too much more trouble.
ReplyDeleteI pack like you for a car trip....I figure, there's room, why not?
I love homemade ice cream but haven't had any in years.
ReplyDeleteOur son made some in his Physics class last year.
I pack a lot too and not sure how much I really use. :)
Wow!! Driving on very little sleep. You were chancy.
I must admit I have done the same.
When hubby and I were dating I drove 3 hours to see him and was actually falling asleep at the wheel.
I'm not big on skills like coordination either. I have tried canoeing and had the same results.
So sorry about your water issues, but your random thought is too true! : )

ReplyDeleteOh no! Water in the basement :/ Hope you can get that fixed quickly.
ReplyDeleteI agree, there is nothing like being able to go home when you need to :)
Ugh, we've had our basement flooded in the past. Awfully annoying. Thank goodness for parents who love us!
