This week's topic fits perfectly into something I was already planning to blog about (way to go, Andrea!). We've finally reached one of my favorite weeks of the year--TV Premiere Week! Now, I know some people want to be all "TV rots your mind" and whatnot, and if you believe that then good for you. You probably like roughing it in the wilderness and eating kelp too. To each his own.
I, on the other hand, love TV and was raised in house that loved (loves) TV. I have watched more hours of television with my parents over the years than I can count, and it's still one of my favorite things to do. And premiere week gives us so much to talk about--what new shows look good, what returning shows have new characters or twists! It's like Christmas morning every day for the whole week!
What two shows am I look forward to the most? That's a tough pick. First pick would probably still go to Glee. The second season was uneven at best, but I am encouraged by the new energy the cast and writers seem to have, and the music and clips previews I've seen look great. I'm really hoping that the third season brings us back to the glory of the first one.
The second show I am most excited about premiered last night, actually. I am a huge fan of The Sing-Off. This is a competition that celebrates talent and creativity and frequently leaves me speechless. (Plus, I love the judges--hello, Sara Bareilles!) The first episode was great (loved Delilah and the Yellow Jackets), and I can't wait to see what's next!
I think I'm the only person on the planet that doesn't watch Glee. Myabe I'll have to check it out this year!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from 2 on Tuesday!

YAY, Glee!!! I have a list a mile long of new and returning shows I want to watch. My poor DVR is going to up and quit on me. :-)
ReplyDelete@Mandy I will be the first to say that Glee is not for everyone. It's one of the few things that my bestie and I disagree on TV-wise.
ReplyDelete@Mandy, I have never watched Glee either! I do watch the Sing Off, and was only able to catch bits and pieces last nite. Too many other TV conflicts! Which makes me realize we need a life...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Glee! I am going to have to check out the Sing Off! Big Bang is another one of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteTV Premiere week is a big week in our house too!
@Mandy, watch Glee! I think you'll love it!
I love Glee too!
ReplyDeleteAnd totally forgot about the Sing off, it's a great show!
I'm looking forward to Grey's and Bones, though I'm sad that Bones doesn't start for another six weeks.
ReplyDeleteIn my parents' home, there was always at least one tv on. It always made me sad that my family would rather watch tv than go do something together. As an adult, I'm perfectly content not having cable/satellite. I have a few shows that I watch online, though. My tv experience growing up wasn't really a positive one.
Only Spongebob rots your brain. There was an article about it a couple of weeks ago. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2 on Tuesday!
@etta I guess that's really what makes the difference because mine is positive. My parents are educated, active people, who also happen to like TV and we did that together. We were the same way with music. I know that it can be negative, but that has never been my experience. (But I am perfectly fine not having cable or satellite.)
