Strawberry Slush Punch

Joyce's Wednesday Hodgepodge asked about our favorite punch recipe, and I had to dig a little for mine.  This makes an unreal amount of punch.  I mean, the last time that I made it, it served forty 8th graders and all of the adults.  But it is so yummy (almost a dessert of its own), and could easily be made into cocktails with the addition of your favorite adult beverage!  I plan to make some over Christmas break, so I thought I'd share so maybe you could, too!

Strawberry Slush Punch

Step 1:  9 cups water
3 small packages of Strawberry Jello

Boil water.  When at a rolling boil, add Jello packets.  Remove from heat and stir, making sure Jello is dissolved.

Step 2:  4 cups warm water
            4 cups sugar

Add sugar to water.  Dissolve and bring to a boil, making a simple syrup.

Add Step 1 mixture to Step 2 mixture.  Let cool.

Step 3:  2 cans of unsweetened pineapple juice (46oz total)
            2 cups Real Lemon

Pour into mixture.  Freeze.  To serve, take from freezer, let thaw.  Add ginger ale.

Enjoy!!
