A Year In The Life Review

In slightly less than two weeks now, I will be 31.  I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but I'm not really going to complain about that either.  It's certainly better than the alternative, right?  It just seems like it was five minutes ago I was playing dress-up and Barbies.  Maybe those of you who are older and wiser can answer this, but is there ever a point where you finally feel like you're an adult?  Because I haven't hit that point yet.  I mean, I get that I am one.  I have bills to pay (so many bills), can drive, vote and I don't have to ask for permission to stay out late.  But I may as well be 15 again for all I feel like I know about the world around me and how to live this crazy life.  (Of course, at 15, I thought I knew it all, so maybe that alone would help.  ha!)  Anyway, just feeling as close as I get to philosophical.  If you have any insights, comment away.

This has been a wonderful year for me.  Let me recap a few highlights:

There are so many other events big and small that made this year one to remember, but whether I feel like an adult or not, I think my 30's are going to be where it's at!  And I think 31 stands to be an even more outstanding year than the last.

P.S.  Speaking of really outstanding things, did you see Crystal's latest post?  Because if you want proof of how awesome God can be, it's right there.  He is always faithful.  The end.

  1. Katie, Take it from me, an OLDER and "wiser" (?) friend... you never feel like your age! But, I believe that's a GOOD thing. I still feel like a kid, and in reality I ACT more like a kid now than when I was in my 30's. The only time I feel old is when I think back on memories... on things I have seen, and experienced. So, happy bday early - and continue to THINK YOUNG! It's the best!

  2. I loved my 30's...so much more comfortable in my own skin, less striving and more living and loving the small moments.
